(UPDATE: I recently did a fresh install of Linux Mint on my laptop and installation of azpainter it looks like there's an AppImage available you can download and just click on to use without the unpacking and whatever below.)
I tried to go back to using Windows and experienced some difficulties with how slowly it runs on my laptop so I'm back to using #linux #ubuntu
again! This is day two of using my new XP-Pen graphics drawing tablet and it's working beautifully. I've gotten more enjoyment out of it since downloading and installing a Linux alternative (#azpainter
) to Clip Studio Paint, Paint Tool Sai, and FireAlpaca/Medibang.
I don't really know what I'm doing to be very honest but I did what I thought I was supposed to and everything worked fine! I'm giving you this information from MEMORY (yes... ) so I'm not sure if I remember it right. Hopefully you're an intermediate user or advanced beginner of linux!
in your browser go to github.com/Symbian9/azpainter/…
Download it! Open the terminal
$ sudo apt-get -y install gcc make libx11-dev libxext-dev libxi-dev libfreetype6-dev libfontconfig1-dev zlib1g-dev libjpeg-dev
$ sudo apt-get -y update
$ sudo apt-get -y install libpng-dev
$ tar xf /home/USERFOLDERNAME/Downloads/azpainter-continuous.tar.gz
$ cd azpainter-continuous
$ sudo ./configure
$ sudo make
$ sudo make install-strip
$ sudo reboot
then after that it'll be in the Graphics tab of your start menu!
